[Dance4fun] Bob & Mary Townsend-Manning

Hello everyone,
 
For those of you who know Bob & Mary Townsend-Manning, I wanted to pass this
information on to you.  As you know they retired last year and moved to
Southern Utah.  Mary has been Cueing Rounds for the local club there.
 
Please keep Bob & Mary in your thoughts & prayers.  They are OK, but Bob is
going to have some recovery ahead of him.  I talked with Mary via e-mail and
they are expecting to recover and see us in Bakersfield.

   I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Bob & Mary were riding a
motorcycle on a vacation trip and the bike took a very sudden 'detour'...
Mary was thrown off the bike and suffered minor injuries, mostly skin
abrasions, but Bob stayed with the bike and it hit a tree.  He broke 8 ribs,
broke his collarbone, his scapula and ruptured his spleen which had to be
removed.  He was air-lifted to a hospital as they were out in the
'boonies'...  We spoke with Mary a week ago (she's up & about and able to
dance) and she said Bob is healing, but undergoing a lot of physical therapy
and still in a lot of pain.  Uh, Yeah!!  When she told our little group,
almost to a person, everyone just said 'Ouch!!!'.
 
  If you like, I will pass on your best wishes to she and Bob.
Unfortunately, I don't have her email address, but shall see if I can get it
from other Club members and forward any contact info I can garner.
