For those of you who may have heard and would like an update:


During a routine mammogram in August, a mass was detected. 
After several mammograms and a sonogram, A needle biopsy was recommended. 
The needle biopsy could not be done because the mass was too deep. 
A lumpectomy was performed on Tuesday, August 29th. A 1.8 cm mass was found and removed. I was told Wednesday, September 6th - that I have breast cancer (Infiltrating Ductal Carcinoma). 

I am in the process of switching surgeons and have an MRI scheduled for Wednesday, September 20th to see how much more cancer may still be present before more surgery.

Right now I am waiting in a holding pattern until next week and then the surgeon will let me know the next step.

A BIG THANK YOU goes out to everyone in the Square Dance Community and at my work who are helping me through this.
